It was the Vredenburgh mansion –perhaps origonally.

This was the home of a Vrendenburg and they were in the lumber business in Springfield for many years.

I hate to say it but I like the 1955 style better.

As a child I longed to live in this house (as well as many other beautiful Springfield homes). What can I say, I was fickle. I, too, prefer the 1955 rendition.
