This is the corner where the ‘Cozy Dog’stand got its start…it was directly across from Gerber’s Drug Store and next to the used car lot….by the way ‘justBob’ it was the ‘Icy Root Beer Drive-In’ before it was the Shack!
I WAS WONDERING IF YOU WHERE RELATED TO THOMAS (BUTCH) BARRETT HE WORKED AT TOPS WITH ME FOR A YEAR OR SO. HE BECAME SPFLD.CITY COP.HE WAS MY BEST MAN AT MY WEDDING. I KNOW HE HAD A LARGE FAMILY… JUST TO SEE IF YOU ARE ONE OF HIS BROTHERS OR FAMILY.
THANK YOU
Tops had the real curb service area between 5th and 6th with the speakers and the car hops bringing you food, lots of really nice cars and a lot of my gas and moeny spent there too. and Gerbers drug store had homeade Lemonade
Got my first ticket at this intersection.I came out of Tops and cops said I was going 52 through intersection. Still don’t believe it. Yea, I was showing off a little but not 52. fast.

Notice all the antennae on top of the apartment building next to Jack Robinson. All gone now. This Photo really brings back some memories.
