Black’s was on S. Macarthur on the east side of the street it was about 1 block north of Laurel and about 3 blocks south of South Grand Ave. I would also hang around the hobby dept. a lot. Good selection of model trains.
Is there any one that has an old picture of the Black & Co that was on East Adams between forth and fifth street on the south side of the street. It was before they moved to Monroe and eigth street.
Family Video occupies the old Black and Co building. Black’s had the best selestion of HO race cars. $3.15 tax included. The hobby department was second to none.
They had a lot more than hardware. They had chemistry stuff, toys and a great hobby dept at the downtown location.

The address of that Black & Company store was 1614 South MacAurthur. I worked there as a teenager in the early 1970′s.
