I worked at S.A. Barker’s for Mr. Lester Friedman and even got to run the elevator. You had to turn the handle “just so” to make it stop evenly with the floor that you arrived at. They sold very nice clothes and the junior’s boutique was in the basement back then. Early 1970′s.
Wow, I bought a lot of clothes in the old Barkers, and I had my first job there…..selling jewelry at Christmas.
